PROGESTERONE
Progesterone has been designed for women, using herbs, vitamins and other natural ingredients. Its formula is designed to be fast absorbing and contains USP progesterone derived from wild yam.

Progesterone? is naturally secreted by the Ovary during the second half of menstrual cycle in reproductive age ovulating women. Progesterone? is one of the hormones in our bodies that stimulates and regulates various functions. Progesterone is a pro-gestational hormone with a role in maintaining pregnancy. This Hormone produced in ovaries, placenta when a woman gets pregnant and in the adrenal glands. Progesterone helps prepare your body for conception and pregnancy and regulates the monthly menstrual cycle.
Characteristics Of Progesterone:

Natural Progesterone reduces the symptoms and discomfort of Menopause, PMS and Pre-menopause without the side effects often associated with synthetic hormone replacement therapy. Women who lack progesterone are exposed to persistent levels of estrogen and are at greater risk for uterine cancer.

Progesterone? features from healthful, woman-friendly soy, enhanced by Mexican wild yam. Progesterone Cream can help address normal menopausal discomforts, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and irritability.

Progesterone Consequence:

Too much progesterone often causes tiredness and even sedation. This side effect can be beneficial in a women who has epilepsy or even uterine irritability causing preterm labor because progesterone in high doses can decrease seizure activity and uterine contractions. Progesterone may cause Indigestion, irregular bleeding, bloating, fluid retention, breast tenderness, weight gain, feeling sick, headache, dizziness, insomnia, drowsiness, depression, itching, skin rash, acne like spots, hair growth, hair loss, jaundice, yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes.

Progesterone is essential for survival and its deficiency can cause a wide range of problems. Natural Progesterone cream applied topically is stored in the fatty tissues ready for use as needed by the body to reverse the toxic effects of estrogen dominance. Progesterone has multiple effects outside of the reproductive system. Progesterone is thermogenic, raising the core temperature. It reduces spasm and relaxes smooth muscle tone. Gallbladder activity is reduced.

Progesterone Cream

Progesterone Cream
Balances estrogen dominance

Progesterone is one of two key hormones, the other one is estrogen, made by the ovaries of menstruating women. Progesterone is a safe, natural alternative to HRT (hormone replacement therapy) because it''s produced by a woman''s body during the second half of each monthly cycle, from ovulation until menses, and is the dominant hormone during this phase. Progesterone hormone made at ovulation by the corpus luteum of the ovary, and in smaller amounts by the adrenal glands. Progesterone is manufactured in the body from the steroid hormone pregnenolone. It plays a very important role in fertility and reproduction, promoting successful conception and pregnancy.

Role of Progesterone Cream

Progesterone Cream plays a key role in women's menopausal health. Progesterone is needed in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopausal women for many reasons. In a normally cycling female, the corpus luteum produces 20 to 30 mg of Progesterone daily during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Progesterone Cream or progesterone-like substances known as progestogens or progestin's are also ingested by women in birth control pills, or just sometimes to induce a menstrual period or regulate abnormal bleeding problems if menses are skipping or bleeding is irregular or prolonged. One of its most important roles is to balance the effects of estrogen. Unrestricted estrogen creates a strong risk for breast cancer and reproductive cancers. At menopause estrogen levels drop only 40-60% and it is just enough to stop the menstrual cycle. But in some women Progesterone levels may drop to near zero. Because Progesterone cream is the precursor to so many other steroid hormones, its use can greatly enhance overall hormone balance after menopause. Progesterone Cream also stimulates bone-building and thus helps protect against osteoporosis.

What is Progesterone Cream made from?

Progesterone Cream used for hormone replacement is manufactured in laboratory from plant fats and oils, usually a substance called diosgenin which is extracted from a very specific type of wild yam that grows in Mexico or from soybeans. In the laboratory diosgenin is chemically synthesized into real human Progesterone. The other human steroid hormones, including testosterone, estrogen, Progesterone and the cortisones are also nearly always synthesized from diosgenin.

Benefits of Progesterone Cream:

Balances estrogen dominance
Helps use fat for energy and keep it off hips
Natural antidepressant
Facilitates thyroid hormone action
Normalizes blood clotting Increases libido
Promotes blood sugar levels
Restores proper cell oxygen levels
Prevents endometrial cancer
Helps to prevent breast cancer
Increases bone building
Is a natural diuretic (water pill)
Eliminates hot flashes

Recommended Usage:
?Natural Progesterone Cream is easily absorbed through the skin due to its fat-soluble attribute.
From subcutaneous fat, progesterone is absorbed into capillary blood.
Thus absorption is best at all the skin sites where people blush: face, neck, chest, breasts, inner arms and palms of the hands.
Massage 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cream twice daily into smooth skin areas such as the wrists, inner arms or thighs, throat, abdomen or chest.

Benefits of Progesterone Cream

Progesterone is a hormone produced by the ovaries that balances the production of estrogen, a hormone that can cause a variety of serious ailments such as cancer. Production of progesterone by the ovaries decreases as people grow older, which leads to excess estrogen in the body. This condition usually occurs a few years before menopause.

Severe stress, anxiety, and an improper diet can also be the reasons for the ineffectiveness of the progesterone cream. These factors will cause the body produce more estrogen than must be handled by progesterone in the body. The side effects can be drastic if this estrogen level is not controlled as early as possible. Other reasons for the increase in estrogen levels in the body are any kind of diseases in kidney and liver. Also, chemicals in food tend to act as fake estrogens and create problems.

Natural progesterone cream, produced in laboratories using an extract from wild yam and soybeans as raw material, can be a good solution to women facing low progesterone problem. Other prescription based synthetic progesterone creams are also being manufactured.

Very rarely have side effects been noticed in women using natural progesterone. In most of the cases, synthetic progesterone has been known to produce a number of side effects such as depression, insomnia, nausea, fluid retention, etc.

Natural progesterone cream must be used with utmost caution to avoid unpleasant side effects. It can be used as per doctor?s instructions for a limited amount of time. Most women need to use this cream till adrenal hormones normalize. Usage can usually be stopped after this. Natural progesterone will easily convert into testosterone and estrogen if required by the body.

Some of the common benefits of using this cream are that it keeps estrogen level in check and helps in bone building, which can help to avoid osteoporosis. It is also supposed to increase libido in men and prevents various cancers like endometrial and breast cancer.

What every woman needs to know about Natural Progesterone

Even if a woman has low estrogen levels, she can still be subject to the effects of estrogen dominance if her progesterone levels are extremely low.

Progesterone, a highly fat soluble and essential hormone created by our body naturally when the body metabolizes the "mother of all hormones," pregnenolone.

Pregnenolone is the precursor for corticosterone, testosterone, estrogen progesterone, DHEA, cortisol and aldosterone both in men and in women.

Look at the research that was done over the years (and is still going on around the world):

-dePeretti et.al, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 1983

-Roberts, E. "Pregnelonone - From Selye to Alzheimer and a MModel of the Pregnenolone Sulfate Binding Site on the GABA Receptor:, Biochemical Pharmacology, Vol 49., No. 1,1-16, 1995

-Ray Sahelian, M.D. (www.raysahelian.com/pregnenolone.html)

-William Rdelson, M. D. amd Carol Colman, The super Hormone Promise: Nature's Antidote to Aging, Pocket Books, 1996

-Victory Dolby, Pregnonolone: A natural hormone to increase energy levels, mental acuity, immune system function and alleaviate thritis and stress

-and many others

The question for both genders is: 'how much progesterone is your body producing to help keep you hormonally balanced.'

The key word here is "balance." As we get older we tend to produce less and less progesterone for a variety of reasons, such as menopause, creating a hormone imbalance that can affect us in many ways.

There is a big difference between pharmacological versud physiological doses of a hormone.

Pharmacological doses are superphysiological that involve taking large quatities of an active ingrediet. These doses exceed level found naturally in the human body and promote abnormal actions and imbalances.

Physiological doses are merely a replacement designed not to exceed normal levels.

In the case of pregnenolone, less than 50mg a day may constitue a good physiological dose. In fact many people have obtained excellent resuts with much less (15-20 mg per day).

With DHEA, 25 - 50 mgs are recommend for women; 50 to 100 mgs for men per day. For those taking progesterone, 20 mg a day is sufficient. If you are over 50 years of age, you may require slightly more, while those youngs may require slightly less.

Why do we need to supplement with a hormone?

A rapidly growing cause of progesterone loss is environmental pollutants. Research has proven that this dramatic rise in the use of chemicals and pesticides is largely responsible for a critical rise in the growing number of illness and disease today. Over 51 chemicals, in fact, have been identified as "hormone disruptors." Approximately 2 billion tons of pesticides as well as billions of tons of industrial chemicals are used annually the world over.

Why does my Doctor not know about Natural Progesterone?

For years women have been subjected to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), using synthetic hormones (like Diosgenin) to balance and ease the symptoms of menopause. These synthetics, prescribed to millions of women to ease immediate symptoms of menopause, prevent osteoporosis and heart disease, have now been found to actually increase the risk of heart disease, cancer and blood clots.

The primary reason so few studies have been performed on natural progesterone is lack of financial interest.

Pharmaceutical companies will not spend research, development or marketing money on a product they cannot patent, and no one can patent Progesterone; it's a naturally occurring hormone in the body.

Research of Natural Progesterone and its findings

Dr. John R. Lee, a renowned expert and leader in the field of research advocating the use of natural progesterone, was asked why doctors don't use or prescribe natural progesterone. His answer: " it is not favored by the medical-industry complex."

Dr. Lee was the first doctor to question the use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and was heavily criticized for it. According to Dr. Lee only natural USP progesterone has a molecular structure identical to the progesterone produced by the human body. He stated, "Synthetic hormones don't work as predicted and, worse, they pose a health threat to women."

After the infamous HRT "Nurses Study" was stopped due to numerous and dangerous side effects, including heart attacks, strokes and cancer, Dr. Lee's work was finally brought to light and taken seriously.

What are your Progesterone Options

If you are unsure if your progesterone levels are too low (or in rare cases, too high), we recommend that you discuss testing your levels with your doctor.

One of the best home tests for evaluating levels of these hormones is a saliva test. Aeron Life Cycles provides accurate and convenient saliva tests for both consumers and the medical profession.

Protein Hormones vs. Steroid Hormones

Protein hormones are produced by glands like the hypothalamu, pituitary and thyroid. Such hormones inculde growth hormone and thyroxin. Supplies of these hormones are stored within the gland and released as needed.

Steroid hormones are made from cholesterol and include pregnenolone, progesterone, DHEA, and estrogen. These hormones are not stored; they are produced on an as-needed basis.

While conventional creams allow only 30% of their active ingredients to permeate the skin, the Natural Balance Plus Creme (http://www.naturalbalanceplus.us), a high-quality, all-vegetarian skin crme, supplies progesterone to counter estrogen dominance or maintain nerve myelin in areas of inflammation, through the application of an all-natural crme containing ingredients of the highest standard.

Reasearch has shown that natural progesterone creme best works when using a 5-day rotation schedule. Result will vary anywhere from 3 days to 3 months before you see any changes depending on your body type.

Hormone Replacement Therapy vs. Natural Progesterone

If your doctor has recently prescribed hormone replacement therapy (HRT) supplements, you probably have a lot of questions. Youre not alone. Throughout our many years in the industry, our most commonly asked question is, Why dont doctors prescribe natural progesterone if its better than synthetic? Thats an excellent question and theres a simple answer: pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to market and/or sell natural products for profit.

But just because you cant buy natural progesterone products from your pharmacist, does not mean youre stuck with one option. IH Distribution.com offers all-natural progesterone supplementsthe healthy choice your doctor may not have told you about.

All natural progesterone products have recently been highlighted in the press as the number-one choice for menopausal ailments. Dr. John Lee, M.D., has written the landmark book on the subject titled Natural Progesterone, The multiple Roles Of A Remarkable Hormone. His thesis is that progesterone is a major hormone that is produced regularly in a womans cycle in more abundance than estrogen, which is a significant factor. He validates that progesterone is the principle hormone of women. As the newspapers have recently documented, the existing system of medical education for day-to-day practice is not in sync with progesterone as a health aid for women.

Recent studies indicate millions of women could be supported with only the replacement of a natural hormone. Unfortunately, theyre being denied this option due to the continuing pressures of pharmaceutical companies and physicians who have been educated in earlier times.

Dr. Susan Hendricks conducted a study that found long-term use of estrogen and progestin significantly increased the likelihood of cancer, stroke and heart attack. Estrogen and progestins (synthetic versions of natural progesterone) have been used to replace hormones that are no longer produced during menopause. The lack of these hormones causes symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and bouts of insomnia, to name a few.

The study included 16,608 women, ages 50-79, at 40 hospitals nationwide. Dr. Hendricks findings: the risk of stroke rose 41%, heart attack risk rose 29%, and cancer cases increased 26% above average.

In addition to the facts above, IHDistribution.com suggests the following books as excellent resources on natural progesterone supplements:

The Estrogen Alternative, written by Ms. Racquel Martin

Ms. Martin also includes mail-order resources for botanical progesterone supplements.

What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Pre-Menopause, written by Dr. John Lee

Dr. John Lee is a reputable advocate of natural progesterone benefits. This 416-page book speaks to women between 35 and 50 years of age who may be experiencing symptoms of pre-menopause. Co-authored by Jesse Hanley and Virginia Hopkins, the book offers a wealth of information about the dangers of xenohormonessynthetic hormonal substancesfrequently found in pesticides, solvents, plastics and hormone-treated meat. This team of experts suggests natural treatments to common symptoms of pre-menopause, and also includes case studies to help readers put the information into perspective.

Hormone Balance; A Matter of Life and Health, written by Kristine Klitzke

This is one of the most outstanding books about hormone replacement therapy vs. natural progesterone. Author Kristine Klitzke graduated in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Natural Hormone Balance Part 1John Russell

Womens health issues nowadays include some popular buzz wordsPMS, estrogen, cancer, hot flashes, natural progesterone, acne, headaches, menopause, and so on. The words are causing great debate amongst the medical industry.

International Health Distribution, founders of IHDistribution.com, strongly advocates that the number one key to achieving and maintaining your healthno matter what your ageis Natural Hormone Balance.

All-natural progesterones have recently been highlighted in the press as the solution of choice for menopausal afflictions. Dr. John Lee wrote the landmark book on the subject titled Natural Progesterone, The multiple Roles Of A Remarkable Hormone. He found progesterone to be a major hormone that is regularly produced throughout a womans menstrual cycle in more abundance than estrogen. His findings confirmed that progesterone is the principle hormone in women. Conversely, the existing medical education system for day-to-day practice is not in sync with progesterone as a health aid for women.

Dr. Lee was an industry leader dedicated to crusading the medical establishment's dangerous and longtime use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) years before the true risks of HRT became evident in the Women's Health Initiative. Sadly, 74-year-old Dr. Lee suffered a fatal heart attack on October 17, 2003.

The therapeutic modality in practice today is the use of prescribed synthetic hormones. The great debate continues between the use of synthetic estrogen vs. natural progesterone for the relief of symptomatic menopausal ailments and general well being. Transdermal (rubbed into skin) progesterone creams can be purchased over the counter, while synthetic hormones can only be obtained with a prescription from a licensed physician.

Pharmaceutical lobbyists, the AMA (American Medical Association), and the entire medical/pharmaceutical complex stand firmly behind the use of typical HRT. Several recent studies (published in the Detroit News) indicate that millions of women could be supported with only the replacement of a natural hormonebut theyre being denied due to the continuing pressures of old-school pharmaceutical companies and physicians.

Consider the study conducted by Dr. Susan Hendricks, who found that long-term use of estrogen and progestin significantly increased the chances of cancer, stroke and heart attack. Estrogen and progestins have been used to replace hormones that are no longer produced during menopause. The lack of these natural hormones triggers the common menopausal side effects such as hot flashes, mood swings, and insomnia. Dr. Hendricks study included 16,608 women between the ages of 50 and 79, at 40 hospitals nationwide.

Hendricks case study results of long-term use of estrogen and progestin: stroke risk rose 41%, heart attack risk rose 29%, and cancer cases increased 26% above average.

Premarin , which is the most common HRT being prescribed today for menopausal women, is a unique blend of horse hormones, which include only minute amounts of progesterone. While prevalent thinking was the horse juice prevented osteoporosis, recent studies indicate that it is likely the small amount of progesterone that is actually beneficial. Despite recent studies, there is still no endorsement of transdermal progesterone by the medical community at large. However, there is an increasing use of progesterone creams by women outside the medical establishment due to heightened publicity.

Since Dr. Lees book hit the shelves more medical professionals have been conducting rigorous studies and are now claiming that it is impossible to deny the viability of natural progesterone creams .

Much debate exists over the words progesterone, progestins, and natural progesterone. International Health Distribution defines these terms in an effort to clarify any misconceptions but youll have to stay tuned for Part II of Natural Hormone Balance.

In the meantime, we invite you to peruse IHDistribution for more information on all-natural products from our number one distributor, Arbonne International. Purchase all-natural progesterone cream (PhytoProlief) at IH Distribution.com today!

Natural Hormone Balance Part IIJohn Russell

In Part I of Natural Hormone Balance, we explored the ongoing debate about synthetic hormone replacement therapy (HRT) vs. all-natural progesterone products. International Health Distribution understands the importance of HRT and how it affects women of all ages. We continually strive to not only provide top-of-the-line natural progesterone products, but also to educate and keep you informed of the latest medical studies on the subject. As promised in Part I of Natural Hormone Balance, International Health Distribution offers up some clarifying definitions of common buzz words among womens health.

Progesterone
Progesterone identifies one specific chemical. More specifically, progesterone identifies one single molecule (sometimes confused with a class of hormones). It is just this one single hormone that impacts the womans bodyand its manufactured in the body by various organs.

Progesterone is a building block, if you will, for other hormones such as adrenal hormones (adrenaline), which are used in response to stress and danger. The adrenal hormones increase blood pressure to prepare the body for self-defense.

Progestins

Available from pharmaceutical companies with a prescription from a licensed physician, progestins are synthetic, wherein progesterone is actually altered at the molecular level. As you can imagine, altering the molecular structure of progesterone to progestin can cause significant changes, particularly as it affects the human body.

It has been documented that progestins are not utilized as an aid to supplement hormones, and they are actually difficult for the body to break down and excrete. Most progestins can also be derived from organic compounds, such as found in plants, through a process called hydrolyzation.

Natural Progesterone

Natural Progesterone can be derived from wild yams and soybeans, and developed into progesterone. This is exactly the same in molecular structure and action to human progesterone, which is made for this method and graded by the U.S. Pharmacopoeia (USP). It is commonly transformed into a cream for transdermal (rubbed into the skin) absorption.

It is said to be an identical likeness to human progesterone. Dr. Ron Eaker claims there is evidence that natural progesterone creams are helpful for many menopausal side effects. He, along with other medical professionals, now shows significant data that this is valid.

Recently, there were two papers presented at the World Congress of Fertility that documented improvement in hot flashes for women using progesterone creams. These papers also acknowledge many testimonies of natural progesterone effectiveness for pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) as well as various other menopausal symptoms. More investigations are forthcoming almost daily.

Another study recently published in a medical journal found significant improvement in hot flash symptoms when transdermal natural progesterone was used. All-natural progesterone has also proved to inhibit abnormal growth of cells in key body organs, which may actually transfer to additional diseases potentially impeding the growth of cancer developed cells, which has obvious major implications.

In summary, natural progesterone that is applied in the form of a cream has been documented to be a viable option for women wishing to effectively and safely treat basic hormonal imbalance, including symptoms and conditions that occur throughout a womans life span. Researchers have also linked these findings to acne improvement, particularly for teenage girls.

International Health Distribution invites women of all walks of life to peruse our extensive line of all-natural progesterone products, provided by our #1 supplier Arbonne International.

Natural Progesterone And Osteoporosis Treatment Success

Using natural progesterone and osteoporosis was successfully treated? Is it possible? After all, natural progesterone is safe with virtually no side effects when used correctly. It is one of the two primary hormones produced in a healthy woman during the menstrual cycle, the other hormone being estrogen. In perhaps the only study of natural progesterone and osteoporosis treatment of its kind, the success obtained by a leading Harvard-trained physician for reversing osteoporosis in women is explained.

What is osteoporosis? Osteoporosis is a progressive disease where the bones become more porous and weaker over time. Untreated, osteoporosis will weaken, disable and kill both women and men. Almost half of the women in the United States will fracture a hip, forearm or spine sometime in their lifetime. 20f women who fracture their hip will die within one year. And it is not just a disease of the elderly. Osteoporosis regularly begins its destructive process for women in their thirties. Becoming slightly shorter in height is the most noticable of the osteoporosis symptoms. Osteoporosis causes postural changes, and it makes one more likely to have a bone fracture as one ages.

There are two kinds of bone cells that one should understand. Osteoclasts are the cells that travel through bone tissue, finding bone tissue that needs replacing, removing old bone by dissolving it and leaving small cavities or pores where there once was bone. Osteoblasts are the cells that form new bone cells in the cavities left by the dissolving tissue. This continous process of bone resorption and new bone formation is how bones are kept strong in the healthy body. Bone strength is the result of the balance of these two processes. Osteoporosis happens when more bone tissue is being dissolved than is being rebuilt.

When are the bones the strongest in women? Bone strength is greatest at around age 30 for women. Bone loss typically begins in women 5-20 years before menopause. Osteoporosis occurs regularly in both women and men. Even though a man begins to lose bone mass considerably later in life than a woman, bone loss happens in men. Women often begin losing bone mass as early as in their thirties, whereas bone loss begins in the fifties for a man. By the time men reach their seventies, their bone weakness equals that of women.

Harvard-trained Dr. John R. Lee is the author of the best-selling womens health book What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Menopause. Dr. Lee studied 100 of his women patients that were in various stages of osteoporosis. The women in his study ranged in ages from 38 to 83 with 62.5 being the average age. By adding supplementation with natural progesterone to an existing natural osteoporosis treatment program, Dr. Lee found that bone density was increased every year by 3-5ntil it stabilized at the bone density levels expected for a 35-year old woman! All 100 women using the natural progesterone and osteoporosis treatment reversed their bone loss and grew new bone cells. These results are astounding!

Dr. Lee also observed that the women who had experienced the most bone loss were the ones that increased bone density the fastest when using this natural progesterone and osteoporosis reversal treatment! Dr. Lee makes it very clear that natural progesterone and osteoporosis treatment must include the osteoporosis treatment elements of proper diet, nutrients and exercise. And for women approaching the age of menopause (late forties to early fifties) and older, he felt that natural progesterone supplementation would greatly benefit women that had already experienced considerable bone loss, and that natural progesterone would rebuild new bone cells.

Anyone can easily make healthy lifestyle changes that will include weight-bearing exercise, proper diet, nutritional supplements and natural progesterone and osteoporosis treatment. Stopping bone loss, rebuilding and strengthening your bones is entirely possible, according to Dr. Lee. If you or someone you know is at risk for osteoporosis, learn more and benefit from the successes of Dr. Lee and other physicians in safely and effectively treating osteoporosis, a debilitating disease.

Menopause and Progesterone

Do women going through menopause have lowered levels of progesterone?

Recent research tells us that women do suffer from decreased levels of progesterone and also experience other symptoms such as unexplained weight gain (particularly in the stomach area), depression, fatigue, hair loss, memory loss, mood swings, migraines and loss of libido. A natural cream can balance estrogens without side effects.

Progesterone and estrogen are the two main hormones made by womens ovaries when they are menstruating. Smaller amounts of these hormones are also secreted by the adrenal glands. It's necessary for the survival of the fertilized ovum, its embryo as well as the fetus during gestation.

Progesterone's primary functions include: acting as a precursor to estrogen and testosterone; it maintains uterine lining and aids in gestation; protects against fibrocystic breasts, endometrial and breast cancer; acts as a natural diuretic, helps use fat for energy; can be a natural antidepressant; aids thyroid hormone action; normalizes blood clotting; restores sex drive; normalizes blood sugar, zinc and copper levels; restores proper cell oxygen levels, has a thermogenic effect; builds bone and helps to protects against osteoporosis.

Some doctors feel that menopausal symptoms, osteoporosis and heart disease may not be due to a deficiency of estrogen, but to a relative estrogen excess due to progesterone deficiency.

Synthetic progestins, such as an HRT drug called Provera (a synthetic chemical), do not have the same biological effects as natural progesterone and have been known to cause side effects including: fluid retention, depression, breast tenderness, stroke, jaundice, blood clotting and cervical erosions.

On the other hand, natural progesterone has no known side effects and has been found to be helpful in alleviating symptoms such as PMS and hot flashes. It has also been credited with helping to prevent osteoporosis.

Many doctors now prescribe for women in menopause the use of a low-dose, natural progesterone cream during the last two weeks of the menstrual cycle. The cream is easily absorbed into thin-skin areas such as the breasts, inner arms, neck or belly by the subcutaneous fat and then released into the bloodstream. You should be careful of the dosage level in these products. Some may have none to very little and others provide 20-30 mg in an average application. It's always best to first check with a doctor.
